
India says people can remove the Sanchar Saathi app
India’s Communications Minister said on Tuesday that people can delete the government’s Sanchar Saathi cybersecurity app from their phones if they don’t want it. His statement came after public worry grew when smartphone companies were told to pre-install the app on all new devices. Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the app is optional and users don’t have to sign up.
