
Mass cancellations put IndiGo under potential antitrust investigation
India’s aviation authorities are considering an antitrust probe into InterGlobe Aviation, the company behind IndiGo Airlines, after the carrier entered its ninth straight day of widespread flight cancellations that have left thousands of travelers stuck across the country.According to a senior government official quoted by the Economic Times, there is a “strong basis” for the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to look into whether IndiGo which holds nearly 65% of India’s domestic air travel market may have misused its dominant position by limiting services or placing unfair conditions on customers.
